There is a specific kind of magic in a hot shower at the end of a long day. It’s a physical reset, cleaning the vessel, washing off the static, and setting a neutral tone to view the world for what it actually is.
In that quiet, neutral space, if you take a deep breath, hold it for a second, and exhale, you are participating in a mechanic that is older than the Earth itself. You and the Source of all things are sharing an experience that plays out on a dimensionless, eternal scale.
We are often taught that the driving force of life is simple survival, that every species fights merely to avoid its own demise. But if you look at the architecture of reality, you realise the Source of consciousness doesn't just want to survive, it wants to experience. And to experience everything, it must breathe.
It must expand into infinite possibility, and it must constrict back into dense, focused reality.
As above, so below. We are a microcosm of this macrocosm. The object of our lives is to represent that Source, undertaking events to have a total, expansive experience. To truly master this reality, we have to understand how this breath moves through the dimensions:
The 3rd Dimension: We master this by materialising our essence into physical form. We show up in the body and create tangible things.
The 4th Dimension: We master this by understanding time. We learn to hold steady and materialise our essence in a timely, rhythmic manner rather than forcing it all at once.
The 5th Dimension: We master this by tempering our emotional experience. We step back and view the dualistic nature of life, the good and the bad, as a complete symphony.
We love the "Inhale". We love the moments of expansion, the new relationships, the big leaps. But inevitably, every expansion must be followed by a contraction. Life squeezes us.
I know this squeeze intimately. For years, I heard an underlying sound, a faint ringing or "Nada", that I tried to muffle. I numbed my vessel’s screams for help with medications and distractions, inadvertently choosing the path of constriction. If I had stayed in that isolated narrative, I would have lived a very small life. But every time I chose to listen to that underlying tone, when I shifted my degrees, when I committed to my partner, when I became a father, I chose expansion.
When I experienced a total mental breakdown, it wasn't a collapse (although it certainly felt like it). It was simply the universe pulling the slingshot back after half a decade of unconscious constriction. It was the deep, painful "exhale" required before the massive "snap" forward into a new reality.
When we get lost in our identity or our personal narrative, these constrictive periods feel like punishments. We feel like victims of a cruel script, trapped in an endless exhale, desperately trying to force outcomes repetitiously.
But a blacksmith doesn't forge a masterwork by gently patting the metal. If you did not get challenged, the "steel" of your character would remain weak and brittle. The universe plunges the steel into the fire and strikes it with a hammer. That constriction is exactly what gives the hero of the story their strength.
In a dualistic world, we label events as "good" or "bad". But from a higher perspective, where duality collapses, every challenge is simply an opportunity. It just takes a higher level of perspective to see it, especially when your ego is suffering in the fire.
By adopting this perspective, we remove ourselves from victimhood. We stop blaming situations, seeking guilt, or carrying shame. We remember that we are co-creators of every moment, and our choice to either force an outcome or allow the experience determines whether we meet reality with resistance or flow.
The next time you feel the profound squeeze of life, remember the breath. You aren't being punished. The universe is just exhaling. Let the fire temper your steel, and get ready, because the next massive expansion is already drawing in.
For the remembrance of sovereignty.
